The Foxton Centre Art Group Exhibition
Join us for an eye-popping art exhibition hosted at Preston Bus Station (Unit 6). This colourful project has been exploring the 5 steps to mental wellbeing using art, with a specific focus on connecting with other people and learning new skills. For more information on the 5 steps, visit: 5 steps to mental wellbeing – NHS website.
The Harris is working in partnership with The Foxton Centre and has been delivering an art project for adults every Friday afternoon since January 2023, making art together to improve wellbeing. The Foxton Centre is a Preston-based charity with a longstanding commitment to working within the local community, supporting both adults and young people. Through this collaboration, we aim to inspire, uplift, and showcase the transformative power of art.
At the exhibition, you’ll be captivated by a remarkable group art project, where individual small canvases come together to form a large-scale artwork. In addition, you’ll have the opportunity to admire individual artworks created by the talented artists from the Foxton Centre Art Group.
Join us at the Bus Station and immerse yourself in artistic expression, as we celebrate the journey towards wellbeing through art. Visitors are invited to immerse themselves in this unique artistic experience at Unit 6, Preston Bus Station, PR1 1DT. The exhibition will be open to the public starting on Thursday 1 February 2024, open for viewing on Mondays 1pm-3pm and Thursdays 12pm-2pm until Thursday, 28 March.
Harris Your Place
Harris Your Place is a £16 million project set to restore and reimagine the Harris for 21st-century audiences as a cultural learning space. The aim of this project is to protect the building and the architecture for future generations whilst enhancing accessibility options and positioning the Harris as a community hub for Preston and Lancashire.
The capital project is more than simply preserving this much-loved building; Harris wants to ensure that it remains a vibrant heart of the community. A place where people want to spend their time.
