Join us for an eye-popping art exhibition this summer hosted at The Foxton Centre in Preston and opened on their Celebrating The Foxton Community Day. This colourful project has been exploring The 5 steps to mental wellbeing using art, with a specific focus on Connecting with other people and Learning new skills. For more information on the 5 steps, visit: 5 steps to mental wellbeing – NHS website.
The Harris is working in partnership with The Foxton Centre and has been delivering an art project for adults every Friday afternoon since January, making art together to improve wellbeing. The Foxton Centre is a Preston-based charity with a longstanding commitment to working within the local community, supporting both adults and young people. Through this collaboration, we aim to inspire, uplift, and showcase the transformative power of art.
At the exhibition, you’ll be captivated by a remarkable group art project, where individual small canvases come together to form a large-scale artwork. In addition, you’ll have the opportunity to admire individual artworks created by the talented artists from the Foxton Centre Art Group.
Join us at the Foxton Centre as we celebrate the journey towards wellbeing through art. Visitors are invited to immerse themselves in this unique artistic experience at The Foxton Centre, located at Knowsley St, Avenham Ln, Preston PR1 3SA. The exhibition will be open to the public starting on the 31st of August, open for viewing on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays from 1:00 until 3:00pm.
Harris Your Place
Harris Your Place is a £16 million project set to restore and reimagine the Harris for 21st-century audiences as a cultural learning space. The aim of this project is to protect the building and the architecture for future generations whilst enhancing accessibility options and positioning the Harris as a community hub for Preston and Lancashire.
The capital project is more than simply preserving this much-loved building; Harris wants to ensure that it remains a vibrant heart of the community. A place where people want to spend their time.
