This head shaped bottle is late seventeenth century (c.1680) French bottle and was made by blowing the glass into a mould. Our records show that this is the oldest scent bottle in our collection, likely made by Bernard Perrot, a French glassmaker around 1685. His glassworks in Orléans produced heads like this in both black and white glass. If you have any thought about how we display this object then please tell us!
